Welcome to English 101! The goal of this course is to give you the skills and experience you need to confidently tackle writing and reading assignments in various academic disciplines throughout the course of your college career -- skills that will carry over into your chosen profession. We will cover the basic principles of rhetoric, strategies for academic inquiry and argument, techniques for critical reading, and the responsible use of print and electronic sources for academic research. We will be reading and writing texts in a variety of media and academic disciplines, which will lay the foundation for further writing development in college.

**This course will meet in room 110 (the computer lab) of the 1911 Building.
